The Tanakh (Old Testament) uses ancient Hebrew weights and measures, such as the *shekel*, *ephah*, and *cubit*; the Christian New Testament uses ancient Greek units, such as the *stadium* (plural = *stadia*). The New English Bible does translate these into WOMBAT, as I'm sure do some other versions, but that's hardly a divine endorsement, is it? What would these master intellects in the F2M and BWMA say to turning back the clock a little further, and speaking divinely-inspired Aramaic, Greek or Latin, instead of our sinful English?
