Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) claims as one of its many victories in the last congress - "prohibit the expenditure of federal funds on metric system highway funding.". CAGW claims it is "America's #1 taxpayer watchdog organization credited with saving $654 billion since 1984". Like a lot of organizations that start off well as soon as they get a sniff of some success and power suddenly everything comes into the gunsight.
