Downtobusiness wants to know if anyone in France would have any trouble
understanding ISO-8601 date format?

Louis, you are the perfect person to answer, what do you think?

Keiner ist hoffnungsloser versklavt als derjenige, der irrtümlich glaubt
frei zu sein.

There are none more hopelessly enslaved then those who falsely believe they
are free!

(good to hear from you!) I must answer your question. Oh, yes, I am sure
that there are plenty of problems in understanding. Don't many Europeans put
the date as 4 February 2001? And wouldn't any communication from me to any
person in France, for example, with a date of 2001-02-04, cause many folks
to think I had mentioned April 2?

I want to promote it. But I really get no joy at doing anything in the short
term which will be misunderstood. So maybe we ought to insert the 2-letter
abbreviation for the month? Or else how do we make sure that Feb. 4 and
April 2 are not confused by folks accustomed to the current manner of
speaking in France?
