Dear Joe,

Thank you for the reference to Simon Stevin. He has been totally
unrecognised for introducing decimal numbers into modern thought.

Personally, I doubt that Napier of Newton could have done their great work
without Stevin's earlier groundbreaking insights. His work was truly a
watershed in modern thought.
