Dear Volvo:
Thank you for presenting a very clear and easy to read web site.
I noticed some errors that you should correct on the Canadian web pages for the
Canadian consumer, such as myself.
1. You use the symbol "kph" for speed. The correct unit symbol is "km/h" as is used
across North American (even the US) and
the rest of the world.
2. You did not list the carrying volume in litres (L) or cubic metres (m). You only
provided "cu.ft". Please include, or replace,
this with either litres or cubic metres.
3. You did not include newton-metres (N.m) for torque or kilowatts (kW) for engine
power, only foot-pounds and
horsepower. Since there are many types of "horsepower" I would expect that kilowatts
would be much more appropriate.
4. Finally you also tend to pluralize the symbol for kilometre. There is no need to
and an "s" to "km" just as people never used to
and and "s" to "mi" for miles. The correct symbol is "km" i.e. 1 km or 10 000 km.
I'm 30 years old and I'm looking to buy a new car. I was raised and educated in Canada
completely in the metric system and
that's what I expect companies to use if they want my business. Small inconsistencies
such as this can make the difference
between one manufacturer and the other.
Sincerely,
Gregory Peterson
