In Ireland, which also adopts the euro in January,
there is a very considerable amount of dual-pricing
everywhere. However, as for "in-built" stuff, such as
changing vending machines or anything, these cannot
change to Euros until the actual date itself
(2002-01-01) since the cash and coins are as yet
unobtainable. In Ireland the cut off date is around
the third week of February, giving a seven-week
changeover period, after which the pound will no
longer be legal tender.
