I always asked myself what would it take to have the height in your DL in metric. Does
this fall under the state's DOT responsibility or is it a federal requirement?
I would assume that the Police should be familiar with meters since they have to deal
with other DLs. (Canadian for ex.)
A switch to SI could also be justified by compatibility with other countries when
travelling. I see the DL as an international document.
Was such change ever considered? Is it planned?
