I actually knew about the Motor Vehicles but for a moment... I guess I was thinking of 
the Ministry of Transportation in Canada.

However, maybe it's me, but I see the DL as a pretty official document and I think it 
should make a target for metrication to comply internationally. 

Maybe if it really was under Howard's department I had a better chance to see meters 
on the NY DLs.
