Kind of cute little creatures.  I wonder if the name is German.  The
so-called Guinea Pig in German is Meerschwein, or pig of the sea.  If
Meerkat is changed to Meerkatze, then you have cat of the sea.

Well, anyway, If I were you, I would suggest you offer to convert those
stats for her, lest she converts them to funny metric.  I'd hate to see 12
inches become 30.48cm instead of just 30 cm, or 2 pounds become .908kg or
908g instead of 1 kg.
