Jim,

Read here from USMA 16996:

But first, I read an additional article, that stated that French Polynesia
in the Pacific will be the first to go to the Euro, and is 10 h ahead of
Europe. So, in reality, as I write this at 15:45 EST, the Euro is already
in use in one part of the world. As I write this, Reunion has been using
the Euro 40 min already. The Euro is circling the globe.

Residents of the French Indian Ocean island of Reunion will slip ahead of
the rest of the Euro zone tomorrow (actually today), using their three-hour
lead on Paris to
become the first to use Euro cash. At midnight on December 31st, the first
of roughly 304 million people in 12 countries will begin using Euro notes in
this tropical paradise.

Two hours later, continental Europeans will join the parade in Finland and
in Greece, followed by the bulk of the Euro zone one hour later. Ireland and
Portugal will conclude the operation after a further hour. -

And then, there is the European Islands of the Caribbean.

Also, there is no such time as 24:00. Midnight is 0:00 h (zero hour), the
first moment of the new day. My watch when in the 24 h mode displays
midnight correctly as 0:00 h.

John
