I saw part of the news on BBC1 tonight and Michael Peshard was covering the fires near Sidney. Three quarters of a million acres of forest had been burned, the fires were just 9 miles from the famous bridge in the city centre, while temperatures were above 100 degrees. It must be very hot there, but I do not assume that the water was boiling there,
