I can perhaps better understand your point now, Adrian. But as Don
Hillger pointed out, the USMA doesn't have the personnel to provide a
moderated and directed discsussion list. I spend a lot of time on
metrication efforts but those folks make me look like a shirker. And
they don't get paid for it.

Perhaps that is why this forum is more like a town square than a meeting
hall. That's what grass-roots organizations do, unlike those that are
more deeply funded, such as the NRA, the NSTM, the TABD, etc. We, the
collective members, must police ourselves and guard the value and
utility of this free forum. Good ideas and good contributions can
provide leadership by dint of their merit.
