Hello All,

A huge opportunity to advance US metrication has just opened up. I heard on
the ABC radio news that in tonight's State of the Union Address, President
Bush will vigorously promote US exports as a way to lift the nation's
economy out of the recession.

This is the perfect time for us as individuals (and the USMA as on
organization) to contact the President (and his father), our legislators,
and all federal agencies pertaining to exports regarding US metrication as a
way to boost US exports and increase American products' competitiveness in
the global marketplace. Just as Australia's smooth transition to decimal
currency emboldened pro-metrication politicians in the 1970s, the US stock
market's recent smooth transition to decimal quotes (as well as the EU's
Euro introduction) could be used as examples of how painless US metrication
can be. -- Jason
