I once chided someone on the UKMA maillist for using kilo. Honestly, I
was very gentle in my remarks. It turns out that the group's consensus
is that they would prefer not to be chided about using that term. I have
refrained from doing that anymore, letting them concentrate on
conversion of the masses over sainthood for themselves. Besides, right
now, their side is winning the race toward metrication and ours lags
behind.
