While looking for some new Leki SL race ski poles, I found someone quoting
the pole lengths in inches on ebay. I sent them a message correcting them
of course. Ski poles should always be quoted in centimeters.

Then I go to USA/Canadian (not the international site) Leki.com's website
and found some horrific things.

Obviously they quoted ski pole lengths in values that look like inches, but
are ended with centimeters. Example...ski pole length ranges stated as
44-54 cm. That would be 44-54 inches, but someone didn't bother to change
the unit.

On top of that, for their race pole section, while the values are
incomplete, they list ounces for weights.

I sent them the following comment.

Dear Leki Webmasters,

Nice looking site, but I must comment on something.
While looking on your under the Alpine Vision series poles, I noticed that
pole lengths are given as 44-54 centimeters.
I'd assume that someone, somewhere wrongly assumed that we Americans would
like to see sizes given as inches but left the cm following the values.

Ski equipment the world over, and yes poles included, are quoted and
discussed in centimeters. Inches have no place on your page.
Also....while looking at my pole of choice, the Leki World Cup, I noticed
that no lengths were given, and an incomplete value given for weight was
(gasp!) in ounces.

Please....keep ski equipment in their proper metric measurements.
Grams would be the proper unit to use for ski pole weights.

Otherwise, nice page.
I'll be purchasing a set of Leki World Cup poles soon.....

A response is welcome, but not required.
Thanks
Brian J White
