But, prove me wrong. Prove to me that you know for sure the average American is neutral. Where is your evidence to the contrary? If they were pro-metric, they would demand it. They would use it on their own like we do. We would have changed in the '70s and gotten it over by now. I don't need to know what the average American thinks. I can see it in their actions. And no action is a sign of opposition. Even Jesus said that you are either with him or against him. There is only hot or cold, no luke warm.
