I didn't believe it when Madan reported that the a new VW uses
only 0.89 L/100 km. But I went to the web site he cited and sure enough he
is correct!

The car is a mini-compact, two seater ("in tandem" which means one seat
behind the other, I guess) and it's a diesel. Even so, that fuel consumption
figure is remarkable. It's 10 TIMES ordinary consumption rates.
