It is true that the Journal's editorial stance is pretty 
backward.  Editorially, I am hard pressed to think of a single thing they 
endorse that I agree with, and vice versa.  But the reporting is first 
rate, and the paper makes a point to separate the editorial and reporting 
departments.  From what I have seen, this separation is real and is 
reflected in their news articles, which do not display the attitudes found 
on the editorial page.

The WSJ's philosophy seems to be that the free market takes care of 
absolutely everything, and there is simply no place for government regulation.
