Dear Marcus and All,

I totally agree that Hertz is the way to go and I suspect that many
physicists and engineers would agree with you. The problem, as it often is,
is in devising the strategy for change ie. the process for metrication.

I think you have made an excellent start by devising these simple rules of
thumb.
