Mike,

Most members of Congress are indifferent to metrication if not openly
opposed.  There are only a few on record in support of metrication.

Rejection by other countries of exports from the US that are not
labeled and documented *only* in SI.  Exporting industries will then
lobby Congress to amend the FPLA and other Laws to promote the SI.
