Gene,

I'm somewhat surprised by the tone of your message. I hope I'm not misreading your
intentions. More below.

And mine would not??? We're on this boat together, remember?... However, this should
not preclude us from talking about other subjects, should it? While I accept that
metrication is the ultimate most important subject of discussion, let's please face
it. What else can we do on this subject, really, honestly?

Many of us here have shared several ideas on how to achieve this. Many called folks
to action, etc. Now, forgive me for saying this, but if we do not overrepeat
ourselves what else would be worth writing? At times this list stays quiet for so
long... Then what? Again, I do not oppose focusing our attention on our main
objectives, however I see nothing wrong in using this instrument to help advance side
issues. You've done it yourself at times, and I see nothing wrong with it, mind you.

Fine, that's evidently your prerrogative. Nothing wrong with it. I try reading
everything myself, but at times (especially upon arriving from a long vacation) I have
no choice but to hit that delete button even for subjects that do not interest me as
much.

I felt quite... sad (and hurt) by your comment above, Gene. That's ok if you don't
like a certain subject, but please there is no need to be... sarcastic about it with
others who may, is there? But, I hope I misread your intention.

As for taking this 'off the list', first of all, if you haven't noticed I stopped
talking about it for quite some time now!!! Second of all, the moderator has
textually requested that we did so and I'd rarely argue with him about his decision.
It doesn't matter if he's right or wrong in his request, I just accept his authority
and move on!

As for 'detracting from our primary objective', well, that's a personal opinion of
yours, which I evidently respect, but respectfully wholeheartedly disagree!... Why?
Because discussing other matters has never taken away or diminished my dedication to
do things for the advancement of metrication!

Besides, please give me a break, my friend, there is more to life than metrication,
the discussion of science-related matters like the advancement of the SI system itself
being one of them.

Anyways, I'll just retreat to my insignificance and be quiet for now...

Regards,

Marcus
