UK washing machines have used Celsius for years. They are the same as
those used throughout the EU. EU clothes and machines have care labels
indicating temperature in Celsius. The following web site has the
symbols (hold your mouse over the symbol to find out what it means).

At least the site only gives washing machine capacity in kilograms only.

Large Capacity Washing Machines (LCWM)

1. Is my washing machine large capacity?

If you have purchased your washing machine in the past two years, there is a
very good chance it may be a larger capacity. Please refer to the drum
capacity stated in your instruction manual. If it's 5.5kg or more then it is
large capacity. If you are unsure please check with the washing machine
manufacturer.
