It just happened. An American who was part of the Taliban Army, John Walker
Lindt (sp), was just convicted of aiding the Taliban and was sentenced to 20
years in prison. Some wanted to have him executed. The only reason for his
sentence is that he publicly embarrassed the US before the whole world.

And as for the flag burners, the government need never step in. All that
has to be done is to have the flag burners face shown on the 6 o'clock news
and enough low-life hillbilly white trash scum will take care of him in a
very democratic American manner......with a baseball bat. The body will
never be recovered. Since the 11 Sep 2001 attack, one still sees vehicles
and homes draped in flags. When you pass-by or stop at a light next to a
vehicle of one of the flag nuts, they tend to be the type I would not want
living in my neighbour. I can just imagine trying to convince one of these
losers on the merits of SI. I'm sure I would be told to take my commie,
pinko ass out of the good ol' US of A and go live in Russia or some other
place of similar likes.

Yes, you are very right. We talk freedom, but we don't practice it.
Freedom means you can do whatever you want as long as it is my way, customs
and culture. If you like other customs, cultures and measurement systems so
much, you are free to move to any place on earth where those things are
practised. And mark my words, as the economy worsens and population finds
itself poor and hungry, freedom will be the first to go and those who want
or practice foreign methods will find themselves fighting for their lives
among a bitter and ugly population.
