The worst thing a nation can do is oppress its citizens - directly by
government or indirectly by culture.

Freedom is hardly the first thing to go in a bad economy- rather it is the
first to come back, as people fall from the bubble of a long-since-over
stock market, they find out who's really been in control while they thought
they were on top of the world.  Many get angry, although a skilled
politician can divert their attention and focus their hatred on something
else - a scapegoat.

That's what Hitler did - and he and an incited public killed all kinds of
Jews.

Perhaps we should watch Bush more closely, lest America be known for the
Muslim Holocaust.
