Regarding the posts about liquor and beer in containers: An example of irrationality is that in the US, while all wine bottles are in 750 ml sizes (well, most of them are this size), invariably ALL other statistics about wine production are in ifp. Literature from the wine industry always talks about how many gallons, or barrels, or cases, or cases of xxx gallons, of wine are being produced. You never read or hear that there are 9 L in a case of 12 bottles, or that if there were 10,000 cases produced, the output was 9000 L.
We always have to do it differently--but not sensibly--in the USA! HARRY WYETH
