Vegemite is now owned by Kraft. Who I believe are American. In Australia we now have a push by Dick Smith (polar explorer) to create a new Vegemite for Aussies. If you are fed Vegemite from birth on your morning toast then the taste is like mothers milk - acquired but in built. I understand from my American friends that to the novice it has a vile salty taste. The last time I bought it in America it was in a dual label and the bottle was big enough to last about a week. The last time I bought it through US customs the female customs officer laughed a the three large bottles. Let you kids try it they will like it.
