Han,

Get Spamkiller www.mcaffee.com or something similar. I was in Europe last
month and it off-loaded about 300 spams to a killfile in my lab, which I
didn't have to pick up on the road.

It balances an aggressive phrase filter against a broad whitelist of
accepted senders, including my Outlook addressbook, specified domains, and
specified top-domains (.gov, .edu, .mil, org, including university and
government agencies). It gets about 85% of the junk out, and only rarely
gives a false positive, never a show-stopper.

Just what works for me, I've used it for a year now.

It is targeted but is one spam I accept; the rest goes into the trash. The
most offensive one I got was a porn spam, with the disgusting lying claim
that I had opted in to receive their trash and visit their &*+@%$&* sites. I
have saved another one, promising university degrees from 'prestigious,
non-accredited universities'. Really!
When I am at it, I will get a doctorate diploma (PhD) next month, on
November 18, not from these con merchants, but for my thesis on Dutch
metrication.
Any list and/or USMA member who should be in The Netherlands by chance at
that time is invited to attend in Nijmegen, at 15:30. Just let me know.

Han
