Johnathan, I was talking about the novel by Nelson DeMille By the Rivers of Babylon and I mentioned it in that mail. DeMille uses the metric system in this book. In this thread - A new system- estimating distances by football fields and blocks were discussed. A person *in the novel* is opposed to metric, but it has nothing to do with you; by chance, and chance only, he has the same name you have. I saw this striking example of someone estimating distances by football fields in the book. My apologies, but I never intended to insult you. People with the same names can have opposed opinions and be utterly opposed personalities. Please, read the entire e-mail.
