Thanks to Bill, Louis and Nikolay for addressing this. As soon as I saw the explanation I realized it made sense.

Louis' translation to calendar dates makes a couple of assumptions as to what is "week 1" and what is "day 1," but they both sound reasonable to me.

Assuming that there is a typographic mistake and that the phrase should read:
"I will be out of the office from WW44.4 to WW45.1 and will be back on WW45.2",
it comes in ordinary language :
"I will be out of the office from 44th week 4th day to 45th week first day and will be back on 45th week second day",
or, in even more ordinary language:
"I will be out of the office from Wednesday 30 October to Sunday 3 November and will be back on Monday 4 October".

Does that make sense?
