Christopher B. Guay has been advocating SI in the NCWM and in P&G for many
years. I have had the pleasure of discussing SI with him at several of
the NCWM annual meetings. I believe Chris is the *prime* leader of metric
labeling within P&G. His title is listed in the NCWM Directory of 1999 as
"Principal Reg Affairs" P&G Co. at "5299 Spring Grove Av Ivry Dale Tech,
Cincinnati, OH 45217" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.

Chris, is your NCWM listing of 1999 still current? Many subscribers to
the US Metric Association listserver are pleased with the leadership of
P&G in the advancement of product labeling is SI units, and might want to
convey their appreciation directly to you.

Mike, Jim McCracken of the NIST Division of W&M or Jim Frysinger or
Chris himself can better answer your question on Chris' participation
in the NIST meeting of Nov 7 on amending the FPLA to permit metric-only
product labeling. Although I was not there, I certainly support the
amendment, and hope that only SI units will be legal for trade by 2010.
