2002-12-10   Has anyone here been watching the Steven Spielberg production of "Taken", now being shown on SCI-FI channel?  Well, in last nights episode, which should be repeated tonight, there was an excessive amount of metric used.   In the one scene, a girl, whose father was half-alien was about to give birth to her child in a hospital in Seattle.  She developed a complication and began to bleed and nearly died, but an alien ship monitoring the whereabouts of the mother, made a beeline to Seattle to save her.   In the hospital scene, as is normal, her dilation was reported in centimetres.  But, more exciting was the government radar operator monitoring the movement and position of the alien ship.  He kept saying over and over, the speed in metres per second and the altitude in metres.  No FFU at all.   John
