I bought another bag of those peanut M&Ms which are listed as having a mass of 396.9 g.  The last bag I bought weighed in at 405 g.  This bag weighed in at 403 g.  If all of the bags are over 400 g, then I see no reason for them to list the mass as 400 g instead of 396.9 g as they do now.

If Joe Six-pack is going to be convinced that metric is easier and he would be better off adopting it, he has to be shown by examples.  396.9 g just doesn't set the right example.  400 g would.  That is why it is important to have products labelled in rational sizes, or at least marked as such, especially when the product meets the requirement.
