I can see it says 'not encouraged'. But you said that an intelligent
reader would know that they were metric units 'now obsolete'.
Unfortunately my intelligence is not what I would like it to be so
forgive me for seeking detailed clarification.

If I had a client wanting to switch to the metric system and asking my
advice about their choice of units printed in the brochure, should I
tell them to treat the units in table 9 and 10 as if they are all
obsolete? I would be happy to do so, if you simply say:

"yes, treat units in tables 9 and 10 as obsolete"
