This is my answer to 'Bunterhund':

"You have failed to mention that most Zollstocke have metric graduations
only. I have a 'duimstok' with only millimeters and centimeters. I do not
buy measuring instruments with other than metric units on them. And I think
that we should stop using American units once and for all. I live in the
Netherlands, a metric country, just like Germany is. I regard the use of
American units in metric countries as madness. And I have no time at all for
such ridiculous 'traditions' that prescribe the use of medieval measuring
units. The nautical mile could be abolished, as the GPS system has made it
redundant."

I had to register and I think that they want to know too much about people
registering. There were no less than three fields with questions. They also
try to trick you into subscribing for receiving commercial e-mails.
