Han, I hate to break the news to you - but that's business! The trick is to put enough safeguards in any agreement, to make SURE the other party follows through, assuming he'll try to wiggle out.
I'm sure the EU negotiators know that. On metric only two entries. When I am home I will post a gem from their site about TABD and metric. You will be astonished. I could not find anything more about metric only labelling, than that they had achieved the delay, and attempts to get into their archives all ended in 404 errors. I KNOW from what was on their site before 2000 that they had promised to the EU Commission to support optional metric only labelling. When the issue should crop up again I will inform the responsible people in the EU that Estee Lauder uses TWO different labels. And in one of them they claimed that they had promised to the EU Commission that they would support optional metric only labelling. I will have a look on their site myself tonight when I come home from work. They may have destroyed most of the entries. Anyway, I don't believe their promises. Their motives are highly suspect and Estee Lauders behaviour is proof of that. They have two labels, one for the US market, one for the world market. Both FFU first, and the second label has 'Franco-American' FFU as well.
