Josef F. Blumrich was  a Nasa engineer who wrote a book about the spaceship described by the prophet Ezekiel in the Bible.  Excerpts from his book give technical details and dimensions of the spaceship Ezekiel saw using metric units.  If Blumrich had used FFU while at Nasa, he would have felt more comfortable with it and thus used it to describe the ship Ezekiel saw using FFU.  But, he used metric in his books, which would lead me to believe that he was comfortable using them, a comfort he would have attained from using them on the job.

The spaceships of the Prophet Ezekiel

by

Josef F. Blumrich

Background

A native of Steyr, Austria, engineer Blumrich is the holder of patents on numerous inventions. Until recently the author was chief of the Systems Layout Branch at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center. In earlier years, he devoloped the structural design of the Saturn V booster and participated in the design of Skylab. He has left NASA in order to spend his full time on research concerning extraterrestrial visitors in ancient times. He wrote the book Da tat sich der Himmel auf (The Spaceships of Eziekel)

References in some holy scripture to strange machines have prompted, throughout history, speculation and conjecture in order to lend acceptable, if not rational, explanations of the phenomenon reported. Modern technical knowledge and test procedures have been used to reconstruct a model of what was sen and experienced by one of the four great Jewish prophets two and a half millennia ago.

Some years ago NASA engineer, Josef F.
Blumnrich researched the account in Ezekiel
from a purely technical point of view. Mr.
Blumrich is quoted in the book In Search of
Ancient Gods
(Erich von Daniken, G.P.
Putnam's Sons, NY; 1973) page 42:

"It is possible to infer the general appearance of the spaceship described in Ezekiel from his account. Then an engineer can set aside his report and reconstruct a flying machine with the same characteristics... I discovered that Ezekiel's spaceship has very credible dimensions...
Specific impulse = 2,080 sec
Weight of construction = 63,300 kg
Fuel for return journey = 36,000 kg

Diameter of rotor = 18 m
Total rotor power output = 70,000 hp
Diameter of spaceship proper= 18 m.
