Title: Re: [USMA:24986] ROM Renaissance
I think I have got the explanation for the inch-pound dimensions shown on the Internet pages of the design of the Royal Ontario Museum extension that Kilopascal cited in USMA 24986.

The conceptional design shown in the WWW pages was by Daniel Libeskind's New York office.  Daniel Libeskind is not listeed in either the Toronto White Pages, nor the Yellow Pages. The address on the WWW pages is that of Bregmann + Hamann of Toronto who are supervising the work.  I spoke with Paul Gogan of that firm.  He explained that since this was an addition to a building built in the 1920s it saved complications in enlarging the building by continuing in feet and inches.  Any new building that the firm builds are designed and built in metric.

The plans submitted for the building permit were metric, as required by Ontario regulations.
