False, Joe, unless you mean by that that the metric ton is a multiple
of the kilogram.  If so, why not say so.  Metric ton (or tonne) = 1000 kg.

I'm surprised that you make such an awkwardly *indirect* assertion;
in symbol form: Mg = 10^6 x 10^-3 kg = 10^3 kg = 1000 kg.
