I tend to think that such people would want to destroy the metric system. What they strive for can easily become this amongst many other things: ONE global language: English. The people who are promoting PNAC are neoconservatives bent on worldwide U.S. hegemony, if not outright control, achieved through military might or the threat of it. "Traditional"  conservatives are just as troubled as liberals by it.   I think the metric system is one of the farthest things from their tiny, arrogant minds.
