Farms, development-size tracts, small lakes, etc. are measured in hectares. Larger areas are measured in square kilometers. The transition from one to the other is a matter of judgment.

For small volumes (car interiors, car trunks, refrigerators, freezers, etc.), liters are the unit of choice.

Hello could someone please tell me what the proper S I unit is to measure land area?  What is the way to measure volume of apliances such as deep freezers and fridges?  Is it cubic meters or liters? Thanks.
