A much better method is to give three or four examples of the quantity in
question *only in metric units* with no mention of other units.  This is
how young people learn metric units (the SI) in nearly all countries of
the world with the exception of the US.

That is the reason for the USMA position favoring *metric examples* rather
than *precisely converted numbers* and units.
