Euric,

According to my information, metric has been the only form of measurement officially taught in schools in Great Britain since 1974.  In addition, young people don't seem to be familiar with imperial measures.  Some teachers may have added to the curriculum on their own, and traditional measures may have been added to social studies or history classes.  But the BWMA is not a reliable source, so don't take what they say too seriously.

International comparisons of math teaching, curricular guides, and histories of math teaching all contain dates for metric only education.  If you read French, another source is La grande métrication by Louis Jourdan.

Members of the BWMA have stated that UK schools that abandoned
education in UK schools in the 80s, reinstated it in the 90s. Does
anyone from the UK have any information on the teaching of FFU in UK
schools? If it is, to what extent?

Is the use of FFU in the UK on the rise, on the fall or stagnant in the
UK? Are there any known reversions to FFU usage in industry and
commerce that any of you have seen or are aware of?
