To all,

I am away with Christmas, staying with my brother.
Regrettably we will have the notorious Christmas Thaw once again. Yesterday,
in advance of the first encroachment of warm air, we had snow and a cover of
about 5 cm. But it has gone and it will be 9 or 10 degrees for a few days,
and gray and drizzly as well.

I have a dial type thermostat and I always set it at 20 degrees when at home
in this time of the year. I won't need it for the following two days anyway.

I wish everybody on the list a Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and of
course, metric progress in 2004. This will be the year of Irish road
metrication anyway.

Best wishes and enjoy these days.
