Just in time for the new year, I have finished my new website. It replaces
my old one, to which the USMA currently links. The site is:
www.themetricsystem.info.

Kind of hard to imagine that the domain name was still available, huh?

I would love to hear some feedback and suggestions. I want it to be as
useful as possible. However, there are a few constraints--the site will not
work with old browsers (such as Netscape 4). The vast majority of people on
the Internet use modern browsers (which are free), and that is what I have
programmed it for. I may make a version for old browsers, but I have no
firm plans for that. John Mercer, I don't think it will work very well with
your reader, but you should be able to get around on the site.

The other constraint is the purpose of the site. It is not meant to be
comprehensive. On the contrary, I tried to make it as simple and easy as
possible for newcomers to the metric system who may not be interested in the
scientific or engineering topics that a lot of us on this list seem to be.

Feel free to send me feedback, especially if the site doesn't work with a
browser that you think is new enough.

Carl
