For example, I think in order to work on American cars, one needs to have tools with American measurements. Think of all the toolmakers that might go under if they couldn't continue to manufacture their tools in fractions of inches instead of centimeters or millimeters.
 
Hmmm.  Kathy must be driving a pre-1970s car.  Before someone writes an article as such they need to check their facts first.  I think  Pat from Australia needs to send Kathy his "don't use metric" list.
 
I wonder if Kathy is aware of the hidden metric around her, or has marketers been that effective in keeping metric hidden from the American public?  Or does the public just ignore it when they see it.
 
Also Kathy should be told kilometre is pronounced kill-o-meter.  And she needs to be told the rule why.
