The two issues are separate. "Metric" time is well...an almost useless endeavour at this point in time. Maybe later, but right now I'd be happy if everyone used 24 hour time and that was it.
Save the "metric" time for those mailing lists, or for people on that fringe that would like to change the time/calender method.

Fine, the SI system in its present form is "the way to go", but sure as hell it is NOT "the end of the line"! Curbing the efforts of those who are simply trying to get on with the natural course of mankind is uncalled for, and, quite frankly, the wrong attitude to cherish IMHO!

Promoting metric in the US means promoting the system that is in use in the rest of the world. That is separate from changing the metric system or the system by which we tell time. Confusing the two means just makes efforts to convert the US will be less effective.
