A few weeks back I asked some questions on the
situation involving UK scales used for trade. To this date I received
no answer, so I am going to reask my questions.
I wanted to know how the situation is handled with a
trader whose scale(s) is(are) out of compliance.
1.) Does the Trading Standards continue to certify
non-compliant scales?
2.) If not, under what provision are the traders allowed
to continue to use non-certified scales?
3.) If so, for what reason are scales being recertified
that don't comply?
I understand in some circumstances the authorities were
doing nothing pending the outcome of all court challenges. Now, since the
organised opposition has in fact lost their case the ECHR, that should end all
court challenges for good and the reason for suspending prosecution is no longer
valid.
To anyone's knowledge, is there going to be an action on
completing the metrication of those scales not yet converted?
