Hello I have been doing some research on the sale of deli meats in the area where i live.  i phoned a lot of different delies and they all price their sandwitch meats by 100 g.  I asked them if they still get a lot of people asking for a pound of meat they all said yes.  When a customer asks for a pound of meat they weigh out 450 g.  I asked them if their is any problem with this, they all said know.  The scales they use are metric only.  I am very pro metric as you all know but i have to admit sometimes it is easier to say i want a pound of meat than 454 g or 500 g.  I don't think it slaps SI in the face if somebody goes in to a store and asks for a pound of meat and the clerk weighs 450 g.  When the deli meat is wrapped after the sale it says the weight  in grams No ounces at all.  John .
