I have never seen any advertising in non-metric units for liquor. Even unit pricing at the local Shop-Rite and Costco are in metric. Although the bottles are labeled in L or mL, I do recall seeing cL on some bottles but that was a while ago. I have not seen it recently.

If I am correct, are most bottles labeled in ml only? I don't think there are any regulations that require English measurements be used in advertisements. I ask because we have one local Liquor store here advertising in ounces obviously converted. The ad is very odd. Several other stores use the metric labeling. Before I write them I want some facts to use in the letter. Thanks Howard Ressel, Metric Manager NYSDOT Region 4 Howard Ressel Project Design Engineer, Region 4 (585) 272-3372
