Hi Nat,

I've also only bought liquid helium by the liter, dispensed in 60 or 100 liter 
storage dewars.  However, given that we're talking about Marshall and 
Lockheed, I think it is more likely than not that they really did design 
their spacecraft including the helium tank in customary units.
